Summertime at Lake Manitou....

There is nothing like summer at the cottage...and being able to spend each and every day playing at the lake. The boys have been getting so much out of their Manitou experience this summer. It's been incredible.

Tan learned to swim this summer which has been the coolest experience watching the daily progression. He's also learned to fish all on his own and paddle the canoe (with strong paddling strokes and draws), so that he can be my big canoe helper when I take the boys to the community center on my own. Tanner is a big helper and he has just loved helping Poppa and Geemie with projects this summer - his favorite's being Poppa's bonfires and Geemie's deadheading which he can't get enough of.

Cam, it turns out, is crazy for swimming at the lake. He is the most enthusiastic little swimmer, and the minute we get to the dock, he's bounding in the water - rain or shine, cold or warm - he just loves it. Cam's favorite thing this summer has been his Bowgie swims. For some reason he just loves swimming to every buoy (or "Bowgie" as he so fondly calls them) we can find on the lake. We took Cam for his first tube ride when Mike was up, and he really like that as well. After watching Tanner tube so much, he was ready to give it a try.
