4th of July

We had an incredible 4th of July up at the cottage with Mom and Dad. The weather for the 4th was amazing this year - best opening weekend in years! - and after we helped to get the cottage opened up we did a lot of playing! Tan's favorite things were tubing (he just couldn't get enough), playing/swimming in the lake, and being with Geemie and Poppa. Cam enjoyed the beach and playing in the water, and especially all his ride-o's in the big boat which he loved! On the 4th Mom and Dad got a fantastic set of fireworks and Dad and Mike set them off for us which was so much fun!!! We hadn't done that in years. The boys loved it and so did we!

We are all so grateful for Manitiou. It is such an incredbile place. The lake is so clean that many people still get their drinking water right out of it. And, it has somehow missed the excessive development that a lot of cottage country has seen. It is also such a special place with so much family history. I have so many memories of growing up there - and of Granny who loved it up there so much. It's so cool to look back on pictures of Jean and I playing with the same places our boys now play. I always feel like our Bushell ancestors live on up there and if their spirits are anywhere on this earth, they are there.
